(red.) The design exhibition that Cercle Cité initially planned this year has been rethought in view of the unprecedented current situation linked to the Covid-19 pandemic. This online project, called Design Decameron, offers a convenient alternative, accessible to everyone, everywhere – Cercle Cité’s exhibition space remaining closed for the time being.
The title of the project is inspired by the literary work The Decameron by Giovanni Boccaccio, in which 10 people distract themselves from the Black Death plague of 1348 through 10 short stories.
In collaboration with Design Luxembourg and Design Friends, Cercle Cité calls on 10 professional Luxembourgish designers and gives them ‘carte blanche’ to create an artwork offering an intimate look at the current, or even forecasted events linked to this global shockwave.
Starting May 14th, a new creation will be revealed every Thursday on Cercle Cité’s social media (Facebook and Instagram) #designdecameron.
Furthermore, Cercle Cité has worked hard during the last few weeks to conclude its brand new website with the ‘Bunker Palace’ agency, where the artworks will also be revealed on a weekly basis.
